I’ve used a few different belt systems over the years. My primary complaint is that they don’t balance well or they ride up on you, annoying! The Speedgoat 2.0 is fantastic! I primarily run trails so my hips have a bit more movement depending on the technicality of the trail so fit and balance is crucial on long runs and/or ultra races. The belt itself (which is like seat belt material, but thinner in width) is adjustable and I found flexible yet firm and rides snug on the body. No slipping around at all; I keep 18 oz of fluid in each bottle and even with the weight it has no wiggle at all. The pockets work well especially the front removable one for my smartphone. The side and back pockets work well for me too for my electrolytes and gels. This has become my primary belt. I have the fitted race belt for shorter runs and use Speedgoat when I need more fluid on the route.

Just received the Speedgoat this week. Took it out for a 10 miler today. This belt is well designed and made with high quality materials. It took very little time to adjust the belt and fit. The pockets have plenty of room for food and essentials. The bottles when full carry very well with very little bounce. The bottles are a little thin but are light. The caps on the bottles are the best I’ve seen. Open the cap, squeeze the bottle and you get a mouth full. I would like to see an insulated bottle for this belt. After wearing this belt, I can’t see carrying a pack. For racing, if there are aid stations this is all I’ll need. Long races without support may require a pack. You can carry light gloves and hat by stuffing them in the back pocket. A jacket can be rolled up and carried up front in the bungee cords. I tried it and it held just fine. This will be my go to belt for my next two races, an 18 miler and a 30K. The belt is super comfortable and you soon forget you have it on while running. Very glad I purchased this belt, well worth the money.

This pack has minimal bounce for a large 2-bottle waist pack. The closure system on the belt is secure, but there is no front buckle to cause chafing. Tons of storage, with rear pocket, two side pockets, and a front pocket. The bottles are really nice…high flow when the valve is open, and no leaks when they’re closed. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the bungees on the front pocket that are meant to hold trekking poles. When the pocket is full, the poles are held tight and don’t bounce, but when the pocket is empty or not all the way full, trekking poles will bounce annoyingly. Overall though, this is the best waist pack in its class that I’ve used (and I’ve used a lot of them).
