The Astral 3.0 is by far my favorite pack! I’ve upgraded from my original Astral to the 3.0 version. I like how the pockets fit flat against the front and I can fit a large bottle in the front pocket, plus it expands if I need to carry more. It hold about 2 liters more, so I have more storage in the back too.

My first run with this vest was a 9 miler. I wanted to get an initial feel for it before I took it out for a much longer run. This vest holds a 2L bladder, plus it has a pocket for a flask. Now does one typically need 2L of fluid to run 9 miles? No. But I wanted to see how it felt.
I filled the bladder up, maneuvered the straw/hose through all the little holes, straps and clips and then filled up the flask and slipped it into the front pocket. I made some minor adjustments to the fit of the vest now that it has the weight of the water. It was digging into my pits a bit and I knew it would cause issues. I just loosened up the side adjustments and tightened up the top bungee and I was all set. The weight distribution was great. No bounce, no discomfort. I had no idea until I got home and weighed it that I was carrying around an extra 6-7lbs. I would have never guessed because it felt so comfortable and effortless!
Plus look at that design! Those straps are not sitting right on top of the “girls”. They aren’t restrictive in any way and it doesn’t feel like you’re being squished anymore than what your sports bra may already be doing.

I’ve used this vest on a few long runs so far (15+ miles) and I love it. I was hesitant at first based on the price, but I think it’s well worth it. The vest is very well-made: high quality material, intelligent design, and lots of storage. Consider me an UltraSpire convert.

I have been using this vest every Saturday long run for the last year and for the most part I love it. The vest feels great and doesn’t bother me on long runs. But, after 1 year the two zipper compartments have issues. The small zipper compartment at the top came lose and I had to sew it back down. It worked fine after that. The bottem zipper compartment is now getting stuck more and more and is hard to open/close. That zipper has always been hard to open/close while on the run. I love this vest but I wish the bottom zipper compartment was replaced with a duplicate of the other side with maybe a magnetic or elastic string closure/loop. Overall this is still the best 1.5-2.0 liter vest for women – especially those of us a little busty on the top.

This is an AWESOME vest ~ and I am speaking from the cycling standpoint. Very light weight, and much cooler on my back that other brands I used to wear. Large rear pocket holds my vest and leg warmers…and even a spare bottle! Pack is 2L, which is 50 miles for me…the spare storage, plus my frame bottles means I can go 100 miles with no stops ! Color is — well, AWESOME! Magnets hold the mouth piece, and there is a twist lock so there is no water dripping during travel. They have taught of everything! I keep my capsules handy in the large left pocket, and toss the used baggies into the pocket right behind it. Right pocket (zippered0 holds mu pine or second pair of glasses (for pre-dawn rides). Fully adjustable with side straps and waist cord. Thank you UltrAspire for a beauty of a hydration vest!!

Works for every run! I use this instead of a handheld and can carry everything I need comfortably. Cleans up easily in the washing machine.

I spent FOUR MONTHS looking for a hiking pack. I am way too picky for shopping apparently! I tried back packs and specially made hiking bags and NONE of them compare to this vest! It’s sleek and light weight design makes it so easy to maneuver rocks and trees in my path. Since this vest is made for running when I’m walking my arms aren’t brushing against the pack either. The biggest issue I was having while finding the perfect pack for me was the space. I needed something with a reservoir that had space for my personal items…ahem..snacks….but that also wasn’t too big or heavy on my back. This bag is everything I needed, everything I wanted, AND it’s pink!! I love the attachments on the front because it makes getting my skittles much easier and less time consuming while keeping me hands free! Whether you’re running, hiking, biking, or just want something to make walking the dogs easier THIS IS IT! This is the only bag/pack/vest I’ve seen that pulls off everything in my life!! 5 STARS!

My litmus test for a hydration pack is two-fold. 1. Can it hold enough water for a long run in summer in AZ, and 2. How much do I notice it when I’m running.
With the 2L bladder and the option for a 500mL flask, it meets criteria #1 with the added benefit of being able to carry liquid nutrition or use it as a way to get water on my head in addition to in my body!
The fit is outstanding. No bouncing, no chafing (I can wear a tank top under it with no problem) and as the bladder empties, I can easily adjust the fit on the fly thru the bungee down at the bottom.
This is the best pack I’ve used (and I’ve tried Nathan, CamelBak, etc).
    Highly recommend.
